In Singapore there are four official languages: Malay, English, Mandarin Chinese, and Tamil. There are many festivals celebrated in Singapore, including one called Thaipusam where some people engage in body piercing. There are festivals celebrated by Buddhists, Muslims, Christians and Hindus in Singapore. There is a large following of classical music lovers in Singapore, as may be seen from the statue dedicated to the composer Chopin located in the Botanic Gardens.
