Mexican Spanish is the language of most of the population of Mexico, with a small fraction speaking native languages such as Nahuatl. Mexican cuisine, which has become famous the world over, is particularly noted for such dishes and recipes as enchilada, tacos, burritos, and tamales. Many Mexican recipes involve flat bread made from maize corn, tomato, and hot jalapeno chili peppers to make food spicy. These vegetables, and also chocolate, all had their origin in the region of Mexico. Tequila is a clear alcoholic beverage native to Mexico known for its unique effect. The most famous traditional Mexican musical style is called mariachi. There are also famous Mexican dances, one of these being the "Mexican hat dance".

The Mexican people have a number of beloved festivals that are celebrated throughout the year. The people, who are mostly of the Roman Catholic faith, will burn candles in their churches to honor their saints, hold parades, light fireworks, have dance contests and beauty contests, and more. They also have a custom known as a pinata that is made from paper and hanged from the ceiling. Usually it is the children who will then beat the pinata with sticks, causing all manner of candy and other sweet treats and toys to fall out onto the floor.

The national sport is charreria, which is something like rodeo, but also involves horses. However, the most popular sport with Mexicans is soccer football. In addition to these sports, Bull fighting and boxing are also both well loved by Mexican spectators.
