Bosso Nova is a type of musical style similar to jazz music that originated in the area around Rio de Janeiro Brazil in the late 1950s. One of the most famous Bosso Nova songs around the world is Girl from Ipanema, performed by the famous Brazilian singer, Joao Gilbert. It started out as music that was played to go with the samba dance.
